Janis Calton

Janis is a native Montanan, born and raised in the greater Flathead Valley. She is the third generation member of the Oftedahl Family. Being the granddaughter of iconic valley residents, Oscar and Edna Oftedahl, her roots run deep. They settled and homesteaded here in 1947, establishing a family that runs five generations strong! As a local salon and business owner in the Flathead Valley, Janis has dedicated her life to family and raising two amazing daughters. Kylee, a teacher at Kalispell middle school and girls volleyball assistant coach at Flathead High School and Caitlin, a proud wife, and mother of two, as well as a full-time real estate agent in neighboring Alberta Canada. She and her husband Kurt reside in Bigfork Montana.

Janis's educational background has allowed her licenses in a capacity of business ventures locally and abroad, instilling the valuable skills needed in sales, marketing, public service, and most importantly, communication. A strong passion for the great equine sport of horse racing has fueled her ambitions and zest for life, all the while establishing lifelong bonds with friends and business colleagues.
