Born and raised in Southwest Montana, the Flathead Valley has been a part of me since 1964. I love all things outdoors and Montana is the place to be for that!! After living in several places in the US and internationally in Singapore and Australia, my husband and I jumped at the chance to live in my home state again in 2013.
My background includes engineering, raising two sons, teaching, catering and Real Estate. I know what customer service means and I value honesty and transparency in all transactions.

We very much enjoyed working with Tammy Balkenbush on our recent purchase of property near Lakeside. Once we told Tammy what we were interested in, she did a great deal of research and sent us numerous listings to look through. She was always willing to answer any questions we had, and worked with us to narrow down the list of properties that might suit us. When we came in from out of town she set aside two whole days to take us to see various properties. From the time we made an offer all the way to closing, we felt like Tammy was truly our buyers advocate. She kept in touch with us throughout the whole process. Tammy was recommended to me by a good friend who moved to the Kalispell area. Upon contacting her about real estate in the Kalispell area I found her to be very knowledgeable and professional about the real estate market in that area. I would highly recommend her expertise to anyone looking to purchase real estate in the area. What really sets her apart from others is her responsiveness to emails, texts or calls. Anytime I had a question about something she got back to me very promptly and with an answer to my questions. She managed all the home buying necessities such as offers, counter offers, home inspection, and all pertinent inspections you need for the home buying process. I lived out of state and trusted her knowledge and expertise. This was extremely important to me as the Coronavirus lockdown went into effect and prevented me from traveling to the Kalispell area. I would like to recommend Tammy Balkenbush as a realtor.
Tammy was our realtor two times. First, she assisted us in the purchase of our home in Whitefish. She was instrumental in finding just the perfect property. She listened to all our needs, and because we are from out of town, did a lot of research and viewing of homes on her own before our arrival. Because she had narrowed the homes down to those that met all our needs, in the first day of looking we had found our dream home.
Secondly, she listed and sold a twenty-Five-acre parcel with a modular home in Kila. For this one, I don’t know what we would have done without her. Again, because we aren’t local, she met with contractors, repair people, home inspection, made sure roads were plowed, etc. The complete sale was done remotely, and everything went without hitch.
We feel very fortunate that Tammy assisted us in both the purchase of our new home, and sale of our old one. We will certainly use her in the future if the need arises, and highly recommend her if you have been searching for just the perfect real estate agent.

A couple years ago, my wife and I began researching relocating to the State of Montana, specifically the Kalispell area and visited the area several times, during different seasons. Once we finally made the decision to begin shopping for homes, my wife began looking for a realtor. After checking the bios of several prospective realtors on Realtor.com, we settled on Tammy because of her knowledge of the area and her real estate experience. We first met Tammy over Thanksgiving 2019, when she took time (over three hours, to be exact!) to show our family, including our 9 year old son around the Kalispell and Flathead Valley. Tammy was sensitive to the fact our son was apprehensive about this move, and was delicate in our conversations when he was present.
We found Tammy to be exceptionally easy to work with and understanding of our questions and reservations, since this move would be a giant change in our lives. When I travelled to Kalispell in January 2020, again, Tammy took the time, including several days of viewing homes in different neighborhoods, and throughout the area so that we could have a good understanding of where we wanted our new home to be. A few days after leaving, a house came on the market and Tammy agreed to look at the home in our absence. Tammy spent a considerable amount of time at the home, taking pictures, then having a very thorough phone call with us describing the home in detail and giving us her feedback about not only the condition of the home but the neighborhood, always keeping in mind our family component. Within a day we made an offer on the home… and it was accepted! We think it speaks volumes as to the type of person Tammy is. We placed a lot of trust in Tammy; we trusted her judgement and opinion to help us buy our home sight-unseen, from about 1000 miles away and we never once worried about it. In fact, it was very comforting that we could carry on with our lives knowing that she was taking care of this for us.
Tammy has also been exceptionally supportive and helpful in the weeks after the purchase, from the final walk-through after the sellers vacated, to coordinating a couple of different vendors for minor repairs (and she even helped with referrals as we are new to the area), and answering other questions related to our new purchase. When she didn’t have an answer about something specific, she was quick to respond to us with a resolution. She was always responsive to our texts, emails or phone calls no matter the day or time. What we appreciate most about Tammy is how personable, friendly and down to earth she is.
We are very thankful to have found Tammy and her knowledge, understanding and attentiveness to our concerns and questions has been invaluable! We are confident in recommending Tammy to anyone in need of a real estate agent, in fact, we recommended Tammy to close friends of ours, who are also relocating to the Kalispell area, she has worked with them to help them in their home search and now they are under contract for a home!!
