Gary Koepplin is a proud Montana native. He was born in Missoula, Montana and raised on a ranch west of Missoula. His parents raised and raced thoroughbred horses and raised other breeds that were used for work on the ranch. He and his wife has lived and worked in the Bitterroot for many years.
Gary graduated from Hellgate Elementary School and Sentinel High School, both of which are in Missoula. He also attended the University of Montana in Missoula.
Gary has also been actively involved in the real estate industry since the early 1990s and is a licensed REALTOR with an office in Hamilton. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Montana Association of Realtors® and a former member of the Bitterroot Valley Board of Realtors®. He has held multiple positions in both associations. This is fourth year serving as treasurer for the Montana Association of Realtors®.
Gary loves real estate, but his other passion is horse racing. He was appointed to the Montana Board of Horse Racing and was hired by the current administration to be the Executive Secretary of that board. Gary brings a unique perspective to his board position because he has worked all official positions at racing facilities from custodian in the jock’s room to Executive Officer for the Montana Board of Horse Racing.
He and his wife, Colleen, reside in the Bitterroot Valley. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
